London Climate Action Week: Finance Live
Latest developments on climate finance
During London Climate Action Week (LCAW) 2025, LSEG, the Green Finance Institute (GFI) and Reuters partnered to deliver a live broadcast every morning from Monday 23 June to Thursday 26 June from the LSEG studios in the heart of the city.
Each episode focused on topics and themes across key finance events throughout the week. The show was hosted by Axel Threlfall, Editor-at-Large, Reuters, and he was joined by 50+ leading climate experts to cast views on the hot topics in the world of climate finance – in the UK and beyond.
Find out more about each of the four episodes below and watch them now on-demand.
Monday 23 June
Show 1: Taking the lead in green growth on the global stage
Bringing together influential voices in climate and nature finance, policy, economics and business, this show highlighted the latest developments and biggest announcements in the world of green finance, delved into the key themes being explored at LCAW’s daily flagship events, and explored the City of London’s pivotal role in shaping sustainable futures worldwide.
Tuesday 24 June
Show 2: Finance in action: Demonstrating climate leadership in changing times
We brought together a diverse range of impactful voices from across the worlds of finance, philanthropy and policy to discuss the huge potential that the City of London has to drive real-economy change globally, and how, against a backdrop of change and uncertainty, businesses are stepping into the void to focus on the values and vision for a prosperous economy that delivers long-term benefits to households and businesses.
Wednesday 25 June
Show 3: Global action on climate transition plans
Transition plans emerged at the Glasgow climate conference COP26 as a critical concept. This show covered the latest news and developments on transition plan reporting standards, and how investors are using such information to move multi-billion-dollar portfolios. Experts took stock of progress on global sustainability disclosure, two years from the launch of the ISSB’s inaugural standards and explored how companies are using climate transition plans in practice. And how this is enabling strategic engagement between companies, the finance sector and policy makers.
Thursday 26 June
Show 4: Investing in nature: Turning finance into action
Nature-related risks are financial risks. Managing and mitigating these risks is good business and makes economic sense. We were joined by some of the most innovative voices in nature finance, across financial institutions and corporates, to discuss how we can move beyond disclosures to ensure economic resilience, making even clearer the business case for reducing impacts to nature and restoring the natural environment, and outlining the impact of clear actionable pathways.
